Overall, my experience was very good. Kurt Sloane gave me very good advice during the mediation which resulted in a larger settlement. His knowledge and experience of the mediation process provided reassurance and resulted in a larger settlement.
Everyone was pleasant and professional. I was hoping for a larger settlement, but it is something that I can live with and I no longer have to deal with the insurance company. Very happy to see the end of this lawsuit and a resolution successfully completed during the mediation process.
Facts & Figures - Addiction
Addiction traditionally refers to a physical or psychological dependence on a substance that alters the chemistry of the brain. This includes alcoholism and drug dependency. However, addiction may also refer to ongoing involvement with a substance or activity in spite of the negative consequences. While it may have initially given pleasure, the substance or activity is now required by the user to feel normal. Users find themselves unable or unwilling to give it up, even if it is taking a toll on them physically, socially, or otherwise. Thus, eating, gambling, exercising, shopping, working, surfing online, and many other normal activities may turn into addictions.
Fact: More than 600,000 Canadians are dependent on alcohol, and nearly 200,000 on illicit drugs.
Fact: 15% of people who were alcohol-dependent had also been depressed in the previous year. For those who were dependent on illicit drugs, the prevalence of depression was even higher: 26%.

Wendy initially took on that role, spending 45 minutes on the phone with me in immediate response to my email via the DSA website. She patiently, kindly, and thoroughly answered all of my questions and addressed all of my concerns. There was no pressure to sign on, just support.
I found that dealing with this firm was most uplifting and as stress free as possible. This firm was kind and considerate to my needs and ...
