"I found Share Lawyers is a very professional and well organized law firm. They are as eager to settle the case as the plaintiff is, but they do thorough research and provide the best possible service. I am very satisfied with the end result. Steven Muller is a very skilled negotiator."
Facts & Figures - Diabetes
Diabetes mellitus is a series of conditions in which the body misuses blood sugar, or glucose. A diabetic person has too much sugar in their blood and cannot produce enough of the pancreatic hormone insulin to regulate their glucose levels.
Symptoms include excessive thirst (polydipsia) leading to overproduction of urine (polyuria), hunger and weight loss, fatigue, blurry vision, slowed healing and frequent infection. More serious consequences include kidney and heart disease.
There are two forms of chronic diabetes: type 1 and type 2. Type 1 is the most serious, but thankfully has the lowest rate of diagnosis: approximately 5-10% of diagnoses are type 1. Type 2 is the most common form, and is usually developed through poor lifestyle habits.
Fact: An obese, sedentary person with high blood pressure, high levels of triglycerides, and low levels of “good” cholesterol is most likely to become diabetic.
Fact: A person with type 1 diabetes will require life-long insulin replacement therapy.
